
Meet Don
My name is Donald Rients and I'm a proud Republican Conservative. I'm married to my wife of 35 years. I have 6 beautiful children. I was born in Pontiac, and raised on a Farm at Dana in LaSalle County. My family have been farmers throughout this district since 1866.
I graduated from Minonk Dana Rutland in 1981. Worked the Elms in El Paso, and detasseled at Pfister’s multiple years during high school.
Graduated United State Army Reserve Officers Training Corps Basic Camp – Fort Knox Kentucky, August
6th,1981.
Graduated Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby (worked Convenient Food Mart in Pontiac during
college).
Worked in State of Illinois law enforcement as a correctional officer for six years, most of time at the Pontiac maximum security prison.
I have an Associate in Science degree from Illinois Valley Community College, Oglesby, and two degrees at Illinois Central College in East Peoria – Associate in Applied Science in Electronic Technology, and Associate in General Education.
I worked at Advanced Technology Services servicing Caterpillar computers.
I am currently working as an Infrastructure Analyst at a large national insurance company in Bloomington/Normal for 32 years.
I am the president of the Benson Fire Protection district.
I am a Livingston County camp member of a large International Bible distribution organization, having served as camp president and am currently camp Treasurer, and am an area director.
I previously served as Chairman of the Roanoke Boy Scouts for five years.
Past Church Board and Superintendent of the Sunday School at St. Petri Lutheran church at Flanagan.
I have been married for 35 years, my wife being from Eureka. She has been a self-employed business, as a licensed beautician, for 35 years, and also works part time at Casey’s in El Paso, and at the Post Office in Lacon.
My plans are to continue living and working in Illinois but this time for you the PEOPLE so that I can give you the representation that you rightfully deserve. Give me your vote and I will do just that my friends!
